Next State gift: from the Finnish Government: a laquered scqrved birchwood juwelry box. As this beautiful box was closed by key which could not be found, the russian Liberators just made some holes in the bottom in order to check...

Very detailed and nicely handcarved with Party symbols and Finnish (Suomi) symbolica.

Something for your wife's juwels?

Rather from Croatia, at least this is the language of the caption.
"Za dom spremni" means "For homeland - ready!" and was the official salute of the Ustaša.
Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Za_dom_spremni
"Poglavnik" was the title used by Ante Pavelić, as Hitler used "Führer".
So most likely a present from him.

Ok ! Agree! I marked the caption (which I translate from the russian text) with a question mark! As I was aware that the word 'Poglavnik' is indeed used to indicate Ante Pavelic. But I stayed at the russian text!

Thanks for mentioning!

Will continue posting some more gifts some later! There will be also the same quantity & quality of photos regarding ultra rare uniforms they laid their hands on in the wardrobes or cloakrooms of the Reichskanzlei. They keep an original jacket belonging to Adolf Hitler, an evening spencer belonging to SS-OGruf Julius Schaub, a unifrom of Joachim von Ribbentrop etc. Will post this upon finishing the "Gifts Section"...!

Calm down, Martin. :)
My post was meant as information, no need of a exclamation mark from your side now.
And keep it running!

No prob, Roman! Just glad that you confirmed my doubts while translating. I guess I spent too long in the area of Heeresgruppe Süd; I remarked that I am constantly using these exclamation marks. My answer is meant in a positive and constructive manner.

Will continue scanning this evening.

Regards - Martin

Hi to all!

As we were discussing a thread about the Reichskanzlei in another Chapter of this Forum, I showed them some pictures from the russian book: "TROFEI Vtoroi Mirovoi" (Trophys from the Second World War) by Vladimir B. ULIANOV (ed.: Moscow 2004).

The author published a nice book with a wealth of pictures about trophys, the Soviet Army took from several buildings (mainly from the Reichskanzlei, Target #1...).

Amongst their many finds, nowadays all in Moscow in different musea, on display or hidden away in their archives, are a lot of gifts to the Führer, all captured in the Reichskanzlei.

Some colleagues asked me to show me these items. So I opened this thread. If this not belongs to this Chapter, please do tell me so and redirect me to where this thread should belong.

In the meantime - enjoy some super rare artefacts from Moscow!!
