Hitler Youth Knife w/ Motto - Info request - Will sell it

I have this Youth Knife from my grandfather's collection. I believe it's authentic. I would like help with the year, and any other info you experts may be able to share. Thank you. Let me know if you need more/better pics. -Joe

**Has been there**..AKA...well worn period used relic.
Myself, I like used/abused/rusted/worn/torn/eaten/ripped militaria. Have collected near mint/mint condition relics, but I just like the used stuff for me!!
For investment purposes, condition IS everything. But for just having, I like torn up.

Sopmeone in the past did however do a serious grinding /sharpening of the blade leading edge though. Takes away somewhat of $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$, but motto is collectors dream Get.

"Well used.....and abused" H.J. knife.....condition of the blade and of the leather belt hanger unfortunately keep the value and collectibility fairly low.....too bad because it's a rare maker and fairly deeply etched motto.... this is pretty early as far as HJ knives are concerned....but the overall condition is only "fair/good"....taking everything into consideration.
Certianly still collectible....

Thank you both. So is there a way to put a rough number on this thing guys? I see what you say by condition, and the sharpening job. No doubt the job was done by someone important, thus inflating the value ridiculously. Cough. Lol. The leather ring above the hilt... What's up with that? Purpose?

The photos don't show the "belt loop" well enough to really say much......it should be a simple "belt loop" with leather grip straps with snaps....I believe part of yours is broken or repaired....looks messed up in the photo.

Value would depend on the "belt loop" being broken, repaired, or not.....a general "ball park" amount would be a couple hundred dollars (+/-)[maybe $300.00/350.00 if the belt loop isn't broken or repaired]....most HJs are well used.....the sharpening hurts, but still an early knife.

Just my opinion.....valuewise, .....Remember, a "dealer" will usually pay 50-60% of a realistic retail value.

Belt loop is torn 100%. The way these are going in price though, seems no end in sight on WWW sites/shows.
