Help ID Mexico WWII Knife?

#1

Post by apbroker » 01 Jan 2017, 00:45

I am a pawn shop owner and I bought this knife and would like some help identifying it. I believe it is a WWII Mexico Bowie Combat Knife but any further help would be much appreciated and possibly a value. The full length of the knife is 12" blade is 7 1/2". One side of the blade reads MEXICO the other side has a 2 line phrase that is ineligible. Handle looks to be aluminum and stag with a knuckle guard. The sheath is leather and marked MEXICO. Any help on ID and value is much appreciated!!

This knife is not carried by Jim Bowie in the Alamo, but possibly Santa Anna's troops did nail him something similar.....
I read on the blade: " San Luis Potosí ". I think it's older than WWII, even 19th century.

NOPE!!! Both are wrong,, this and many many others you will see anywhere near the border(in tourist shops in Mexico itself is a standard tourist type thing.
Having spent many a day and night in Cuidad Juarez /& Mexicali, and other border towns in south Cali.
