Hi all I have two grey uniform buttons one with 14 and one with 15 on the front.Both have RZM markings button with 14 on has M5/8 and the button with 15 on has M5/249 on the reverse. Can anyone provide information on these, I assume they are 14th and 15th infantry is this correct and any details on that regiment etc.

Dear Buttonman,
The RZM marks means they were worn by HJ members.
They indicate the compagny (Gefolgschaft), so not use by infantry.
The code stands for the manufacturer:
++E W. Assmann & Söhne, Lüdenscheid (M5/8)
++Sebnitzer Knopffabrik JOS. Koch, Sebnitz (M5/249)

Cédric
