SS porcelain coffe cup

Hello, I am new here and just starting out with collecting third Reich porcelain and silver ware.

I am thinking of buying this coffee cup but the marking make me confused, SS Reich and the year 1937 sounds to early? I can´t find any information about any division called Reich or Das Reich as early as 1937? I am not suggesting it´s a fake I just want to learn more before I buy it.

From military antiques uk http://www.militaryantiques.co.uk/third ... tem-79120/

Thanks Claus

In this case (as well as the "silverware").... SS REICH stands for "SS State".... typical A-SS mess ware. Can't be 100% positive about this one but looks o.k. from limited photos/closeups provided... but there are fakes of these out there.

Thank you for the feedback John G. Sorry for the late feedback from me.

I didn´t know that they meant the state. I have just bought a silver fork marked SS Reich and I thought it was Waffen SS Das Reich 8O But that´s alright I still like it :D
