Just,
I have seen this patch before.... definitely post war, but after checking nearly all my related reference books can not identify what it is or what nationality.... hopefully someone will know. Looks "western Euro.", NATO, or whatever to me... I also checked my "Nato, Naval & Marine, and elite forces" references with same results.

P.S. - Closest I found was in G.Rosignoli's "Army Badges & Insignia of WW 2 Vol. 2- Plate 27" is a similar seahorse rectangular patch, different but "close"... says "WW2 British Overseas Territories- North Caribbean Area".... possibly your example is a postwar version from same area (Not British probably IMO).... however might mean nothing.

Good morning Just and John,

John, could the patch in question be a predecessor to one linked above; .... about halfway down on same horizontal like as 1st Inf Div - Big Red One - and 2 horizontal lines below the 27th Armored Div patch ?

This is a wild guess based on the modifications made to my fraternity's patch - Tropic Lightning - 25th Inf Div.

On my above google link, the seahorse patch is presented wrong side up.

Just a guess,....if this google-link patch can get identified with it's unit name, there's a possibility the org has a web site - probably not as of now.

In the meantime, Just and John; wish you and all other AHF participants a Merry, Happy and SAFE holiday week.
