Actually, for a Korean War/Vietnam war vet., he's pretty well and appropriately decorated. Meritorious Service, Army Commendation, Good Conduct, National Defense, Korean Campaign, Vietnam Campaign, UN Korea medal, and Vietnamese Campaign medal.... all appropriate for a senior NCO rank in the Engineer Corps...(obviously no direct Combat service, at least none he was decorated for.....). Also has the Korean Presidential Unit Award. Anyone who served prior to the 1980s/90s received few awards considering what they award today. A WW 2 or Korean War Combat vet. could easily service 2 or 3 years "at the front" and come home with only 3 or 4 awards.... they were very stingy back in those days....

The 5th Army patch without a "Combat unit patch" doesn't ring true to me, however.
