Help To Identify An Officer's Gunto

#1

Post by thiago_heide » 08 Aug 2018, 20:02

Hello friends!

I'm new here in the forum, and first of all I'd like to apologize for my bad english.

Recently I found this Gunto in an auction and bought it. I did some research and found Mr. Ohmura's website (http://ohmura-study.net/711.html) and I believe the copy I bought is very similar to the model he portrays as "Zōhei-tō" ( Kokura Arsenal's blade for officers).

Could anyone give more information about this? Seems real?

Appears to be a vintage (original) arsenal made officers Gunto.... with a machine made blade. Fine as a military collectible, all depends on the price really.... (Not asking)..... but decent used example IMO.

Many thanks for the response John.

I am including some more photos with some details, in case someone else can help me to attest to the originality of this Gunto, or can say something more about it.
