I am a ww2 German pistol collector but always wanted a gunto and what I know about them is just what I researched online I think its a machine made blade with an acid etched Harmon there no marking on the tang and it has a steal scabbard so I guess pre 43 it has one tiny almost unnoticeable nick on the blade paid 1230 shipped.

Bigron66, welcome to the forum.... Your sword looks good and your description appears correct. You paid "top dollar" in my opinion but that's irreverent if you're happy with the sword.
Congratulations.

Thank you John I am very happy with it i could have bought a ac41 2and variant with a matched mag and 90% original finish but i have a couple in my collection already i did not have a gunto and yes i may had paid a little more then i should but since i know nothing about them and there are many fakes I paid a premium to a well known collector site for for the piece of mind. And it really is a nice looking sword.
