Based on size compared to pallet, what is this US round and era? Was found this week here in area after the tornados

Hello Mark!
I would be careful, looks like it’s still armed. It might be civil war comparing fuse top with what was found recently in Charleston (looks like it’s unscrewed/opened compared to yours). Had a further look around and found several references to the Parrott rifle. Would be interesting to know more about size/diameter etc.
Link to Charleston find https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/articl ... -city.html
