Re: Dagger SA request
Today I bought it occasionally and I don't know if everything is ok with it
Re: Dagger SA request
Hello ;
I don't see problems with your SA Dagger, it's an early SA model, marked on blade ( Hammesfahr Cie, Solingen ).
I never saw this maker mark until today. A good sample.

Tomo1981, welcome to the Militaria section of the AHF.
Thanks for sharing your photos of this Gottlieb Hammesfahr SA-Sturmabteilung "Dolch" / Dagger from the Solingen production.
Google photo search for "hammesfahr solingen": https://www.google.com/search?q=hammesf ... =759&dpr=1
Hammesfahr / Solingen: http://www.solingen-internet.de/si-hgw/hammesfahr.htm
I personally have only seen a few examples of similar SA-Sturmabteilung and NPEA-Nationalpolitische Erziehungsanstalten daggers with the "Schwimmer" ("Swimmer") manufacturer brand from the Hammesfahr / Solingen manufacturing company.
My grandparents bought a twelve piece everyday cutlery set in the late 1940's with the typical Hammesfahr "Pyramide" symbol and the typical "Nirosta" stamping of the time.
Excellent quality, used until the 1990s in everyday use, and donated to a local welfare organisation later, the set is still in everyday use nowadays.
Grandparents only bought "Solingen Made" products, they did not want to waste money for cheap crap, typical germans...
For Sundays and holidays the family used cutlery manufactured by "WMF", never for everyday use.
* Herr von thoma is right, nice and rare find, congratulations!

The grip plates are correct wood. They show the age for sure. There were only a few machines to this day, throughout the world, with tooling able to make those.

Re: Dagger SA request
The Hammesfahr "swimmer" trademark is a fairly scarce maker of SA daggers. Nice piece The company is Otto Hammesfahr Cie.
