And how would one tell the difference between an authentic one and a Romanian fake (with period-correct materials) from the 60s?

Cant withour in hand inspection, I would if you think it a fake, use as dish rag then, cant go on living with such questions on your mind. I ave owned since I started collecting several hundred German flags and banner and many of these small sizes , maybe some were made with the period material in the 60;s

If one cannot tell whether it's authentic from these pictures, then the item will certainly not fail to elicit a reaction in whoever sees it in my collection — whether they love or hate what it stands for. And I personally like this item because it's neat and compact. Perfect for display.

I have owned like a hundred of these smaller flags /I would say they were sold for hanging display during the TR era. They had catalogs that citizens could buy NSDAP and related items, I would display it with confidence, if someone told you its a fake from Ulkraine, tell him or her eto jump in a lake
