Shell case identification topic

Post by Shell Case Collector » 24 Sep 2023 16:31

Hi all,

As a former shell case collector I still maintain a list of shell case dimensions and abbreviations found on shell cases. I hereby offer to help out with identification. My expertise is cases dated untill 1945 and mainly the calibers starting at 12,7 mm upto 80 cm.

My interest is 1) help out and 2) maybe discover new input for my lists.

For the best identification please provide a picture of the shell case profile including the rim structure, a picture of the head stamps on the bottom and the dimensions of the top diameter, the length and the bottom rim diameter with an accuracy of 1 mm. This way identification is much faster and easier!

Looking forward to identification requests!
