Scragz,

The first blade I ever bought was a RAD enlisted hewer by Eickhorn. It was in near mint condition. I paid $285 for it in 1983. Try to find one in lesser condition today for under $500. I am surprised that you don't want a TENO hewer which is a beautiful blade.

MANY COLLECTORS DONT LIKE THE LOOKS OF HEWERS.I DO ! PRICES ARE ON THE RISE ALMOST MONTHLY.I HAD A CHANCE AT A FULL STAG RAD ENLISTED LAST FALL.BUT PASSED FOR A BOKER33 SS. THE FULL STAGS HAVE SHOT UP IN PRICE SINCE THEN.WHAT WAS I THINKING  I WOULD NOT BE TO SHOCKED IF ALL HEWERS RAD'S AND DRK'S WENT OVER 1K WITHIN 3-5 YEARS. TENOS ARE ALREADY AT THE HIGH WATER MARK AND WHAT DO I WANT???? WHAT EVER I DONT HAVE

I have always loved the Hewers, more than any Army or Luft Dress Daggers. I have a very nice SA that I purchased from Detlev Years and years ago and it is in great cond.

One day I might sell off all my other swords etc and use the money to buy a red cross and a RAD, The Teno's are nice but so are the Postal and Customs daggers as well, If I were filthy rich I would have them all but I dont think I ever have to worry about being filthy rich

Ken do you have a pickie of a nice Teno ???

Scragz,

I did indeed have a splendid TENO EM hewer. Last year, however, I sold off almosrt all of my blade collection (36 daggers, 23 swords) when I decided to cut my collection down to focus on cloth items from the SA, NSDAP, HJ, DAF and TENO. Alk I have left are two SA daggers, one early and one late; two HJ knives, one with the motto and a NPEA student's dagger. When I see a TENO like the one on the cover of Tom Wittmann's latest offeing, I have much regret. So it goes.

I know the feeling of having to sell. You sit there and think what am I going to get rid of and not miss, I think its case of close your eyes and point.

I have sold alot of my non German stuff recently and will sell all the rest later on, as we all know its getting hard to find good items at a reasonable price, but at leats you know you will not loose money if you buy an original.

At least my wife will be happier if I give back some wall space, sell 10 swords to buy one good Hewer.

I havent had anyone wanting to donate yet Hmmmmmmmmm......

There must be someone on the forumn who wants to give a mint condition Hewer (RAD or RED CROSS or TENO Im not Fussy :P ) to a poor Ozzie collector on Hard Times.

I shall be waiting with Baited Breath........

Anyone got some nice Hewer Pickies, cant get enough of seeing them.
