SS Daggers

Post by Phil V » 06 Jun 2002 13:15

Did SS daggers come with both of these phrases engraved in to the blades?

1) Mehr Sein Als Scheinen.

2) Mein Ehr Heisst Treue.

Regards.

#1 IS FOUND ON THE NPEA DAGGER" BE MORE THAN YOU APPEAR"

#2 IS FOUND ON SS DAGGERS "MY HONOR IS LOYALITY"

THE NPEA SCHOOLS WERE RAN BY THE SS IN SO FAR AS TO TRAIN STUDENTS FOR LEADERSHIP POSTITIONS.

I HAVE NEVER SEEN BOTH ON ONE BLADE. I ALSO HAVE NEVER SEEN THE BLADES SWAPPED AROUND. BUT....YOU NEVER KNOW THE ODD VARIANT COULD BE LURKING. NPEA MAKERS WERE FEW BERGSMULLER.EICKHORN, AND ANOTHER BUT I CANT RECAL NOW.... BERGSMULLER(HOPE THE SPELLING IS CORRECT HERE) MADE THE LIONS SHARE OF THE NPEAS I HAVE SEEN. HOPE THIS HELPS OUT MAX. RON WIENAND HAS A GOOD BOOK ON NPEA DAGGERS YOU MAY FIND MORE INFO IN IT.

I have always thought that Burgsmueller was the distributor of NPEA daggers and never a maker. Am I wrong?
