I am looking to buy a enlisted hewer.I have seen one,it needs some work on the scabbard there is light rust but I think I can get rid of that with 3 in 1 and some copper wool fine grade, very gently or just the oil and a piece of wood rubbed on the rust.
Anyway the problem is this....
the blade fits loosely in to the scabbard, what can this be?? Is there something missing inside the scabbard?did they have runners and maybe this is out?what could be the remidy?I looked on johnsonns does'nt seem to have anything like that. The blade has not been sharpened, the paint on the scabbard is not to bad either, just needs some tlc but the loose fitting scabbard worries me.Out of interest to you guys he wants $350
what do you all think?opinions please...
John

He has said that it is loose,ie, if you hold it upside down by the scabbard the blade would fall out straight away, can there be something missing?or is it maybe a mis-matched blade/scabbard ?is it fixable?

IF ITS THAT LOOSE, MISSING OR BROKEN RUNNERS WOULD BE MY BEST BET. MY OPINION WOULD BE TO STILL HOLD OUT FOR A NICER ONE.I DONT KNOW OF ANYONE OFFHAND THAT HAS THE PARTS YOU WOULD NEED. CHIP GAMBINO HAS A EM THAT MAY FIT YOUR NEEDS. IT NEEDS A GRIP SCREW. AND IS VERY UNMESSED WITH HERE IS THE LINK. CHIP IS A GOOD GUY  SO NO WORRIES
http://www.sterlinggambino.com/index.htm WISH I COULD BE OF MORE HELP HERE. RED CROSS EM I CAN DO BUT NO RAD STUFF AT THIS TIME. I'LL KEEP AN EYE OUT FOR THIS.
