Re: Tibetan Army during WWII
Infantryman, 1936Nepalese uniforms, for field work, were like those used by the British Indian Army. Parade dress was different and based on green tunics and trousers with a Nepalese headdress.
Equipment and arms were British patterns.

Re: Tibetan Army during WWII
Is there rank insignia for the Tibetan Army at that time?
Re: Tibetan Army during WWII
In fact, in late 1930s when WWII started in China Tibetan army was fighting against the army of Sichuan province but the conflict didn't last long. I don't know if they fought against Japanese during WWII.
A Chinese book "Chinese Tibetan Army"(中国藏军) came out last year with some useful information on Tibetan army in WWII. Unfortunately I don't have this book in hand.
Accroding to a report in 1934, at that time Tibetan army had "19 pieces of artiliery, 4 machine guns(maybe this only counted HMGs??) and more than 20000 rifles. Most of these weapons were bought from Britain and Russia(?!) but some were captured from the army of Sichuan province(CHUAN JUN 川军)".
In 1950, Tibetan army had Bren, Lewis and ZB26 LMGs. Maybe they also had a number of Lee-Enfield rifles. This photo shows Tibetan army gave up their weapons in Changdu(昌都), in the photo we can see ZB26 and Lewis LMGs.
