question luft dagger

in robin lumsdens book detecting the fakes on page 58 he wrights that the fakes have grip wire comprising 2 strands of wire twisted togeather wereas the real ones had one large wire with waves i have a second patern luft and everything is correct down to the magnetic steel scabord but mine has double twisted wire in brass or it looks like brass. is he wrong has mine been replaced at one time?

here are some picks of the dagger in question. the dagger is original in every respect excpt for the wire brad on the handle does any one know if there was ever a wire brad produced or is this some repair done maybe after the original was lost or broken?

I have a replcopy of that exact dagger! Mines definantly a fake though, but it still lokks really spiffy on my wall! :D :D :D

I WOULD NOT WORRY ABOUT THE GRIP WIRE. GET A COPY OF REPRODUCTION RECOGNITION, 1ST OR THE SECOND WITH MORE UPDATES.

I DONT OWN LUMSDENS BOOK. ITS NOT SOMETHING I WOULD BUY. ALSO TOM WITTMANN HAS VERY GOOD BOOKS ON LUFTS.

Don't worry about the grip wire, 2nd lufts had many different types, yours looks OK

i just got this luftwaffa dagger and it looks good to me excpt for one thing there is no billet clamp markes on the blade handle but some old grind marks. has any one seen this before?
