Can anyone be more precise? A Japanese gunboat, most likely Sumida, Fushimi, Saga or Toba, on June 5th, 6th or 7th intercepted the Chinese Kweilee. with 1,600 men of the 21st Brigade, 2nd Division whom had rioted, looted and burned Ichang (Yichang) on the night of June 4th, coming downriver and escorted her to Wuhan( Hanyang,Hankow or Wuchang). They rioted when informed that the unit was to be disbanded on the 8th. My digital copy of the North Child Daily Herald , June 11 or June 18th seems to have the name of the ship--but it is blurred on my screen. If I am lucky and do a lot of cross checking may figure it out--but it would be nice to save my eyeballs. I'm going to post something like this on the Japan board. Many thanks.
