ID of the Chinese officers in Harrison Forman's photograph album
Re: ID of the Chinese officers in Harrison Forman's photograph album
Is no. 21 a young Mao Zedong?
Re: ID of the Chinese officers in Harrison Forman's photograph album
…and No. 2 Zhou Enlai?

No. 9 looks very similar to the gentleman on the right of this picture, standing with Mao and Zhou (courtesy of Wikipedia (Zhou Enlai)).

You are the expert, Wessel.
No. 9 was the same person as in your picture. His name was BO Gu, Director-General of Xinhua News Agency, the former No.1 name in CPC in 1930s.

Re: ID of the Chinese officers in Harrison Forman's photograph album
Almost! Only a minor misspelling of the name of Peng Shaohui.
ZHU De, PENG Dehuai, HE Long, CHEN Yi, NIE Rongzhen, YE Jianying, all gained the ranks of Marshal of the PRC in 1955.
HE Bingyan and PENG Shaohui were both Colonel Generals of the PLA in 1955.
Trust Mr Forman posed to photographs with them was because both generals were one-armed.
So the rest in the pictures might be a bit difficult to ID. A hint is that most of them were high ranking officers of PLA in the following decades, except the one in the last photo.
