Chinese firearms
http://www.chinesefirearms.com/
In Chinese. Navigation is through a pop-up java window - use Explorer: at least, the window won't pop up in my copy of Mozilla. I found it a little difficult to get around in. Found via another forum.
But I believe the following was found through a thread on this forum:
Chinese Military History

For those who are interested in old maps (some in the 1930s) of Chinese cities, here is a link to a large collection:

A great trove of archived information is the Internet Archive: http://www.archive.org/index.php
and
Google book search http://books.google.com/
Just go to the above home pages, and using their search window, type in the words China and War, and it will provide a wealth of public domain items regarding your search. You'll find many interesting and rarely seen items, along with actual written accounts from participants and eye witnesses. In particular, if you use google book search, and specify to show FULL VIEW only (meaning that these books are in full public domain), you can download the entire book in PDF form and do as you want (print it, carry it away in your PDA or book reader to read while you're on the road, etc). This is a great way of finding and reading from material that is otherwise not available unless you live in the stacks of a large and old university library.
Good luck, and I'm sure you'll find both to be wonderful resources. Obviously, either can be used for other things besides war and China, but I just happened to see the question and thought to mention it.
