Chinese OCTU?

Post by keith A » 17 May 2015 15:40

Were Chinese soldiers (with battlefield experience and/or educational qualifications) promoted to officer rank without formal Officer training? I am not thinking of battlefield promotions for courageous acts but rather was there an officer training unit at Ramgarh or other locations in the period 1943-45? Perhaps created for those who had fought well in Burma in 1942?

Sorry. I just found a source that shows both company and field officers received training at Ramgarh. The latter being less than keen to accept instruction from American advisers until the benefits of the training were shown.
