Warlord Era use of the Madsen machinegun?

#1

According to Chinese Warlord Armies 1911-30 by Philip Jowett, Madsen light machineguns of 1908 and 1916 models were imported to China in 7.92mm and 8mm, as well as the British 'Rexer' copies. The book doesn't really go in to specifics though, so I was curious does anyone know which cliques/warlords were importing these guns, when, and any details about their use?

Also if anyone knows roughly what prices these guns were going for on the arms market at the time I'd really appreciate the info.
