Russian Offensive on Amur and Sungari 1900
Can anyone recommend a good narrative in English, French, Spanish of the Russian offensives triggered by the "Boxer---Yihetuan" activity. Have not come across an thorough account in English of the May -June 1900 movements of Russian ships and men from Port Arthur to the Peiho River, the attack on June 16-17 at Taku forts is the most thoroughly reported, but the July August movements on the northern rivers of Manchuria is almost a blank. Steamers Odessa and Selenga draw mentions in New York Times of that era. Many thanks in advance.

Many thanks Greg. As always very helpful. I found the jakol citation (Google translation) very helpful and will help me use and understand Sarhansg''s work better. Again many thanks for all you do.

You may have already found this, Jerry, butThe Russo-Chinese War by George Alexander Lensen (1967) appears to have some information on the subject (I own, but have not read it).

Thanks Stephen: The University of California at Santa Barbara seems to have a copy and I will request it this week. Many thanks.
