What would it have taken (as in, which concessions) for the Soviet Union to agree to have all of Korea end up in the pro-Western bloc after the end of World War II? I am asking this question because, in hindsight, the Kim regime in North Korea is both one of the nastiest and one of the longest-lasting Communist regimes in history. Even the Vietnamese Communist regime and the post-Mao Chinese Communist regime are both considerably better than the North Korean Kim regime is. Thus, I'm wondering which concessions to the Soviet Union on the part of the US it would have actually taken for the Soviet Union to agree to have a pro-Western unified Korea right after the end of World War II? Indeed, just what kind of price would the Soviet Union have actually extracted from the US in exchange for this?
Also, what would the effects of this have been other than no Korean War, a much better life for the North Korea people, and much more wealth, prosperity, health (no famines, et cetera), and economic development for North Korea? For instance, would this have had any effects on any other Asian countries--or for that matter on any other parts of the world? If so, which effects? As an example, might the US be more willing to militarily intervene to help the French fight the Communist Viet Minh in Indochina in the 1950s if it wasn't for the Korean War occurring beforehand?
Any thoughts on all of this?
What would it have taken for the Soviet Union to agree to have all of Korea end up in the pro-Western bloc after WWII?

You're not supposed to just ask questions when you start a What If thread. You're supposed to answer it yourself and then open it up for discussion.
You are constantly clogging up this section of the forum by asking questions that belong in other sections.
viewtopic.php?f=11&t=77436The What If’s need to be a plausible variation on actual military/political events occurring up to the end of 1985 or viable alternatives in their conception.
When you post the thread, don’t just ask the question but give us the benefit of your viewpoint and information to back up your argument, as this helps to put the question into context.

Well, I'll take a shot at this: A greater amount of reparations from Germany and Japan. As in, I think that had the Soviet Union been offered this there would have been a chance of it agreeing to a unified pro-Western Korea. Other than that, maybe the Soviet Union could have been granted a larger occupation zone in Germany or Austria or something--or perhaps an occupation zone in some or all of Hokkaido, in northern Japan.
