Hitler died 1944 Germany collapses?

Post by LAstryAGAIN » 06 Apr 2023 20:33

If A H had died 1944 {The Bomb plot} would the 1000 year reich had lasted without him...?
Id say No because...who could have succeded AH as Fuhrer?
Goering had been desegnated AH Successor in 1941..however despite the hard work he had undertaken to being AH Into power....the war years revelaed his laziness, his greedy love of sloth and corrucption....
Goebbels...who lived for Hitler....and couldnt live without him
Borman.....ruthless enough to wield power in the name of A.H...but so hated that his only way of staying alive....was only as long as his protector A.H. was alive.....
Himmler.....ruthless desk soldier....controled his SS Empire.....yet lacked even less qualifications to command an Army Group than AH ever did....
German General Staff...they were acusstomed to obeying orders from leaders......but being leaders of country themselves????
The Varios Nazi organizations hated and intriguied against each other..with A H dead...they would have engaged in turf battles of power...

Had the bomb plot succeeded, the Army would.

They would likely have tried to negotiate with the Western Allies while attempting to hold the Soviets at bay.

And the Western Allies would have belted out "Beautifull dreamer, waiting for me..."

The Western Allies would have been unlikely to agree to anything less than unconditional surrender.

The conspirators thought Germany could keep Austria, Danzig, Silesia, Sudetenland etc. - they were living somewhere in a fairy land from an Enid Blyton children's book!

We all live in a fairy land, to a greater or lesser extent.

It's arguable whether the Holocaust would have continued even if the plot to assassinate Hitler had succeeded, because Himmler and Eichmann would have remained convinced that Soviet inroads into Germany would mean "Bolshevist Jewry" permeating Germany.

Had the Bomb Plot succeeded, Himmler would have disappeared alongside Hitler.
