Don't give up hope. You'd be as tall as Jochen Peiper, and besides, from 1944 and on, they hired anyone who could walk. We'll make a fine circumcised stormtrooper out of you yet!

Hehe, yeah, thanks for the boost. you're right, if I made it to the troubled times I could have gotten in.

If I had lived in the Third Reich? Hmm... I would probably have been called up and sent to the Russian Front and been killed. If not that, I would probably have perished in an air raid as a civilian! :|

I suppose I would have been a very unsuccessful BDM girl...

Well, considering that I'm no good at

a) sports (at least not track and field kind of stuff...)
b) sewing and knitting
c) cooking

and being anything but tall and blonde (blue eyes don't make it... :( )
I might have got frustrated to the point of taking part
in some equally pointless resistance activity.

At first anyway ;) Later on, how did HaEN put it sometime ago: Can you walk? Can you fire a gun? You're hired.

If I was the same type of person as I am now with the same politics, I would have tried to get the you know what out of the country fast. If I can romanticize this fantasy as so many other posters have done, I would joined Dietrich, Murnau, Zuckmeyer, Sternberg, Veidt, Lorre and a few other UFA alumni in Hollywood and made a living playing German officers.

As history teaches us, always keep a valid passport handy.
