Hi Ron,

U 485 is correct, note the white UAK symbol on the FuMO-casing. Then it is easy.

Take care

Axel

Hi Ron
I see Axel has put U485 but I query that as that would be a black symbol surely. I am willing to be corrected however as still have ama status!

Hi Nobby,

sorry to say, but your status is unlikely to be raised within any foreseeable time after this last post! Original red UAK symbols of DWK turned into white (identical to GW) for boats covered with 'Alberich' coating. Moreover, there were Type VIIC's from GW with that coating. Guess, we have to start from the beginning. Would have loved to do so at Hamburg, but unfortunately I am busy that day.

Best

Axel

HI, boat nearest to camera has a triangle speaker bracket which I have seen on boats from U 403 to U 410.
The mushroom boat is a 551-650 Blohm & Voss series later than U 571.
Not sure about the location but very heavy cranes are present. Perhaps they are getting ready for loading torpedoes.

Hi Again, What is strange is that this boat has one of these aircraft recognition reflectors just in front of the 8,8 cm gun.. I thought these were only on VIIB type boats.

Regards MH.
