Hi Nobby,

no more need for any 'experts' as you have already cracked the nut. Others did likewise before on other queries. I am mesmerized by the growing expertise in here. In times, where stupidity is praised as leadership in some parts of the world, this is a highly welcome contrast to this.

Keep on

Hi Axel,

Thanks for the ID of U 1200, new boat for me.
I`ll hope you will never leave the forum :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( .

Another pic.

The boat left is U 218, and i think the boat in the middle is U 1004(2 ships sunk) and U 1005 on the right. 20 March 1945 Bergen, Norway.
What do you think.

my best regards,

Ron.

Hi Ron,

of course, I'll stay tuned!

The last pic is taken post-war, as U 218 was not present at Bergen in March 1945. It arrived on 8 May from patrol. Boats are lying alongside Dokkeskjar-Kaien. Pic taken between 8 May and 20 May 45 before the final shuffle of boats at that place. Center boat is said to be U 1022. Inner boat is still open to question, probably one of those having recently entered port or ready for operations. Note CT of U 1202 in the row behind, showing between center and inner boat. This agrees with its position as the outer boat in a row with three Type XXI at the same place.

Best

Surrendered boats at Lisahally on Lough Foyle.
The aircrew are from castle Archdale who made the journey up to Lisahaly by bus from Castle Archdale in County Fermanagh, these photos taken by Murray Wettlaufer who was 2nd pilot to Al Bishop when they sank U 489 SE of Iceland in August 1943.

Hi Nobby,

it is Bergen! U 1022 departing on 30 May 45 to Lisahally, taken from Dokkeskjar Kajen. In the front a crowd to say farewell.

Hello,
Cause of the number wrote on the metal boxe ?

This is a possibility.
But what is the white space between the two crewmembers sitting on the wave deflector ? A tactical symbol ? I think the tactical symbol of U 251 look at a white lightning on a black square.
Best regards,

Hello,

Any idea about this u-boot with a schnorchel ?

https://www.ebay.de/itm/U-Boot-Original ... SwKXdabgGS

It seems to have a school tactical symbol on the tower.

Best regards,
Lionfish
