The trials were generally carried out in the waters around Bornholm. We often visit the port of Rønne. For the crew the island was at that time a paradise where milk and honey flowed. So it was quite natural that on sailing back to Germany each member of the crew was able to carry large quantities of butter, sausages, cheese, bacon, eggs and other food.
Once the eggs purchased during a return navigation were counted, there were around 800 pieces. To symbolize this secondary role as a supply ship, the sultan received a white egg-shaped fund at the next visit to the shipyard .............................
