U 2513 and Statue of Liberty emblem

Hello,

Do you know when the emblem of the Statue of Liberty was painted on the tower of U 2513, please ?

By german crew for a mission on the american coasts ? Or by american crew ?

Hi there Lionfish!
It's a US insignia - represents the "Rainbow Division", Liberty being the US, the shamrocks are Ireland where she was picked up and the iron cross being her former country of origin.
