Hello to all :D; a short summary....................................

Supply ship Brake (ex Jurgens van den Bergh).

This tanker was reported in Vigo in September 1939. During July and August 1940, it was reported that she unloaded 4,500 tons of gasoline in Vigo. It was reported that the "Brake" had sailed from Bilbao on March 6, 1941 in search of a French port and it is presumed that it became a supply ship from that date. He left Penang on February 26, 1944 and sunk/scuttled on March 12, 1944 in the Indian Ocean after an attack by "HMS Roebuck". The surviving crew of 196 was taken to Penang by the U 168 and U 532; the U 188 returned to Bordeaux with the remaining survivors. (8) Documented operations of this ship (U 168, 2nd patrol; U 183, 3rd patrol; U 188, 2nd patrol; U 532, 2nd patrol; U 533, 2nd patrol; U 188 and U 532; March 11, 1944 without success U 168)......................

In Septenber, 1943, she supplied U 168, U 183, U 188, U 532 and U 533 in the Indian Ocean.

hi,

just for clarification: by definition, the raiders (Hilfskreuzer) were not part of the "Etappendienst".

Hello to all :D; a little more....................................

Tannenfels 1942.

Name of the ship: Tannenfels (DDG Hansa Line) [Kapitan Haase] (Scuttled 26 (25?) August 1944 in Gironde, France). (1) Documented operation of this ship (U 154, 4th patrol). The U-boat did not receive any supplies, but was given the status report of "Tannenfels" (which included the status of survivors of the raider "Stier") which was later relayed in a radio message to the BdU from U 154, in order that "Tannenfels" maintain radio silence on her way to Bordeaux.
