On the book "U 2540" Page 188 , I have a picture more close up looking as your picture. The text with the picture is: " U 2508 am 3.5.45 selbstversenkt im Kieler Hafen ".
The background seems to be changed perhaps cause of the floating docks.

Hi Gents,
the photo in the book "U 2540" shows U 2504 and U 3502 at Hamburg, while the sunken Type XXI is clearly lying inside the Tirpitz Hafen at Kiel with the barrack ship "K Wb 7" in the background. So it is not that easy to identify it.
