U 307

Mates,
I notice there has been a change in the ship sunk by this U Boat, which had only one, the USSR Tender "Ivan Papanin" in the Arctic off Van Mijen Fjord. I could not find this ship now so what happened to it?
U 307 has now credited with two ships MV "William S.Thayer" and Norwegan MB "Lennox"
Any ideas? Cheers

Well, its because U.307 never sink any ship with name IVAN PAPANIN. In Van Mijen fjord was sunk m/b LENNOX.
Only IVAN PAPANIN i know was sunk on Baltic 30.8.41.

Mate,

Thank you, I notice they correct the known ships sunk by U Boats at times.

The claims by U 772 also appear to have disappeared?

HMS Empire Javelin LSI 7177 UK 28-12-44 Nth Atlantic 50-04N 01-00W 40m S St Catherines Rocks US Convoy 1598 saved claimed by U 772

MV Slemish Cargo 1536 UK 23-12-44 Nth Atlantic 49-45N 01-42W off Ise of Wright WEC 14 claimed by U 772

Cheers

U 772 seems to sunk as early as 17.12.44 by DC from HMS NYASALAND. EMPIRE JAVELIN and SLEMISH now claims as mine victims.
