Hi Ron,
I believe that the U-boat leaving port is the 176.
Can you send me the original picture with out the marks.
Thanks,
Dooley

Hello to all :D; a question .....................

Return of U 128 to Lorient.

2nd Patrol - U 128, under Kplt. Ulrich Heyse, left Lorient on January 8th, 1942. The boat operated in the Biscay in the Azores, Bermuda, off Florida, the Bahamas, and in the North Atlantic. She was able to sink 3 ships with 27,311 GRT on this patrol. After 74 days and having traveled about 9,900 nm, U 128 returned to Lorient on March 23, 1942.

However, on the back of the photo (below) it says 22-III-1942. Which was the return date?

Hello to all :D; another question .....................

Return of U 128 to Lorient March 23, 1942.

On the photo's reverse was writen: "Einfahrt des OT Patenboot(??) am 22. III. 42 Lorient "Unser Empfangskuss"

OT Patenboot.....godfather makes sense.... So the U 128 sponsored a group of the OT?

Hello,
I think the hatch is located between the two muffler bumps and the location of the canoe.

Best regards,
Lionfish.
