Reason: Correct is U 25, U 26, U 27 without hyphen - but not "U-25, U-26, U-27 " !!!! Thank you

Moreover, on November 11, 1935 at the shipyard DESCHIMAG AG WESER in BREMEN was laid the keel of the first boat type VII A (U 27 with the work number 908), it was soon followed on December 04, 1935 by the laying of the keel of the U 28 (work number 909). Hello to all ; something more...................

2. U-Flotille “Saltzwedel”.

Spanish Civil War.

Two submersibles of the U-Flotille "Saltzwedel" had its first combat experience during the civil war which broke out in Spain in the years 1936-39. The U 33 commanded by Kapitänleutnant Freiwald and U 34 commanded by Kapitänleutnant Grosse sailed from Kiel on November 22, 1936 and then sailed along the Kaiser Wilhelm Canal into the North Sea for running Operation "Ursula", called after the daughter of 19 years of Kapitän zur See Dönitz. The action was finalized in December of that year but before that, the U 34 had time to sink the Spanish submersible C 3.

The submersibles of the U-Flotille "Saltzwedel" only returned again to operate in Spanish waters in 1937 after the signing of the Agreement of Nyon.

Hello to all :D; something more...................

2. U-Flotille “Saltzwedel”.

Flotilla's accidents and incidents............

On October 18, 1937 the U 35 (Kplt Werner Lott) collided with a merchant ship in Cuxhafen (seemingly without damage).

On June 17, 1938 again U 35 (Kplt Werner Lott) was involved in another accident, this time much more serious when, during a naval parade was sucked into the propellers of the "Admiral Graf Spee", suffering serious damage that sent the submersible to the shipyards.

Brief description of the event: at 10:07 hours while performing maneuvers, U 35 approached the pocket battleship "Admiral Graf Spee" and collided with its propellers causing serious damage to the submersible and a propeller of the "Admiral Graf Spee"

The U 35 sailed to a depth of 17 meters and the Admiral Graf Spee had a draft of 6.8 meters. Both ships were heading in the same direction, but the Spee was faster than the U 35. Suddenly KpLt Lott noted that the U 35 was too heavy aft, then heard loud noises on the conning tower. Apparently, the suction of the propeller of Spee had lifted the bow of the U 35, and the conning tower went to the propeller, shaking the submersible to starboard. The port side of the conning tower struck the rudder of Spee, and then the propeller of Spee repeatedly tore the forward superstructure of the U 35.

The U 35 was operational again by the year's end.

Hello to all :D; thanks for joining and that picture Pascal . Now, something more...................

2. U-Flotille “Saltzwedel”.

Flotilla's accidents and incidents............

During a peacetime drill in 1938, U 30 was involved with a near-fatal collision with a sister ship. The commander of U 30, Kplt Fritz-Julius Lemp, demonstrated remarkable coolness and control in the crisis, earning the praise of Karl Dönitz and Saltzwedel Flotilla commander Hans Ibbeken, as well as his own crew (three officers and forty enlisted men). According to some sources the sister ship was U 35, but crew members of U 35 do not recall this incident; it was therefore likely a different U-Boat.

Nevertheless I've found on the web the picture showed below. I think it depicted that incident, as you can see the conning tower of U 30 totally smashed. On the forefront of the conning tower was written "Hoy no es día de mojar la pólvora" (Today there is not day of wetting the gunpowder)....I think from the patrol days along the Spanish coast...........

Any one can shed more light on this?. Cheers. Raúl M 8-).
