Hi Nobby,

sorry to say, but no change in your amateur status re U-boats. U 190 is correct, but the other pics are showing U 68 with CO Merten proudly presenting his crew.

Like to suggest Joseph Scalia's 'Germany's Last Mission to Japan: The Failed Voyage of U-234' as a good read for next weekend.

Cheers

Axel

Hi guys,

Thanks,this is great.

One more boat.

  I have no idea with this one.

This boat commissioned with one jump wire to her aft deck, like U 193 with a turmumbau II.

So i am thinking(my first thought)......U 191 Helmut Fiehn ??????

hi,

U 123 commissioning,30-05-1940 Karl-Heinze Moehle.

As far as i know(at least to me),some U.A.K. emblems are not known for some U-Boats.

Note the triangle on the cunning-tower,it looks like an schoolboat emblem,
this boat was commissioned before her U.A.K. trials.

U 161

This picture is taken after she was commissioned and finished her U.A.K. trials.

T.E.K. emblem ???,4TH Flotille emblem ??? i am not sure, :x :x :x grrrr.

Any comments please.

Ron.

Hi Nobby,

football is going pretty well for the teams off the continent. We are all looking forward to the match against England in the semifinal.

The photographs are showing U 125. Kuhnke is saluting in his long coat. Sooner or later you will know them all!

Cheers

Danke sehr! I was hoping for my previous post to be answered first. I live in hope.
So! Here in the British Isles we have four teams still in the championship and when one goes out we suddenly become Irish, Welsh or English! You must stay with one team!

Hello Bad Karma,

Thank you very much for your pictures.
Maybe a "Baunummer" painted at the bow ? "35?" or "85?"

Best regards,
Lionfish.

hi Lionfish,

That was my first thought too,i was thinking U 1222 werk 385 under Heinz Bielfeld when the boat was in training,
the damaged wind deflector can be caused due bad weather and rough seas, but this is just a speculation,i want to be carefull   .

There is a long way to go,there are many/many pictures not identified by the author in these three books.

my best regards,

Ron.

Hi
So! The number on the bow is of no use in identifying a boat!??!
