Hello to all :D; more: The Dutch U boats in the Kriegsmarine.
In the photo below, we see a Dutch U boat, already as a training boat, since it has a strip at the top of the conning tower. According to the different sources (for example the photo itself) it indicates that the U boat portrayed is the O 27 or UD 5; in others it is indicated as O 26 or UD 4 and even some claim that it may be O 25 or UD 3 ........

Hi Pikap,

glad to see you again after some time.

Regarding the Dutch sub at Kiel Tirpitzhafen, I very much doubt it is UD 3. With the converted stern it is almost certainly UD 4 at a time in early 1943 before it was used as training tanker in the Baltic.

Also, when UD 3 left Kiel on its first patrol on 3 Oct 42, no Type VIIC looking like the one alongside was in commission. As UD 3 went straight to Gotenhafen after its frontline period to the UAS and stayed there for the next months, it drops out as a likely candidate. UD 5 drops out as well for other reasons. However, the identity of the Type VIIC is a tough nut!

Sorry, but I don't see the point in your post. Heatwave in Russia?
