Re: Uboote ID
Hi,the boat on the left is an Marcello class boat and it has a 10cm/47 oto 1935 mount and gun. The boat had two of these.
If you look at the two vent holes in the hull near the bottom of the photo to the right of them is a rope if you follow it up letters are on the hull the word DANTE is cut in two by the rope. This means the boat is either the Commandante Alfredo Cappellini or the Commandante Faa de Bruno, which if you look at the number of letters on the conning it looks like the Faa de Bruno.
The other boat I don't know but it is equipped with a 10cm/43 oto 1927 gun and mount.
Regards M Harrison.

Perhaps the image was taken in Bordeaux (France)....

Re: Uboote ID
Hi all,
According to Ebay photo caption this is U-107. Is this correct ??
I am not expert in submarines but I think this submarine is a Type VII and the U-107 was a Type IXB.....

Re: Uboote ID
Is not U-107, but a XIIB type, possibly they were referring to U-102, or U-101.

Hello Sturm78,
This isn't a german submarine but a british class S fitted with a schnorchel after the end of the war, of course !
I hope to help you.
Best regards,
Lionfish

Re: Uboote ID
Thank you, Lionfish. I have searched for more images about the English S-class submarines, but the stern looks somewhat different. The stern of the submarine in my photo seems more angular....Lionfish wrote

On the other hand, I found this image from Ebay labelled as U-25 submarine but I think this is wrong as U-25 was a Type IA submarine and I think this is a Type VII. Is this correct ?
