Re: Uboote ID
Hello Sturm78,
The English submarine is a Class S Group 3 Modified. The stern torpedo tube and the deck gun ( single 3 in ) were deleted and a schnorchel was added after the coning tower. It is visible between the the men and the tower on the after deck.
Best regards
Lionfish.

HI, The U boat in picture 285 is U 589. This has been identified before by Axel no less.
If you look to the stern of the boat you will see the twin gantry cranes which identify this location as Danzig.
Regards MH.
PS British submarines were frequently modified after ww2 in order to catch up with the advances the Germans made in submarine design, these were not surpassed until the nuclear powered boats were introduced.

Hello,
I bought a photograph showing a crew. The KC-holder is Heinrich Schonder. I think, it is U 200,
Can anyone confirm this?

Re: Uboote ID
Regarding post#290 from Raúl.
I think the bearded man, second left is Peter-Arthur Stahl.
Commander of U-648 {the boat in the picture).
Regards,
Ron

Hello Ron
; thanks to your opinion (Stahl - U 648) I've checked in https://uboat.net/men/commanders/1211.html and found a cropped photo of the same as in #290.
19.06.1941 - 00.08.1942 he was II. Wachoffizier auf U 575.
