I just check than Type Xb don't have forward torpedo tubes (like Type XIV)
But I can see a open hatch at the deck like Type XIV, and I can't see the mines compartiments...

If we have a positive ID for the boat,then you`re question could be answered.


One thing caught my eye,this boat has only ``one``jump wire from her CT to her aft deck.
I have seen this only ones on U 716 commissioned with a TURM II,however U 715 commissioned with a TURM I and ``two``jump wires to her aft deck.
I think you`re picture is U 717 or U 718.
What do you think.
