Hello to all ; a little more: A VIP visit.

On March 9, 1942, HMS Naiad sailed from Alexandria as flagship of a cruiser force under KAdm Vian to attack a reported damaged Italian cruiser, but this report proved to be wrong and the ships turned back to Alexandria. At 20:01 hours on 11 March, the HMS Naiad (Capt G. Grantham, DSO, RN) was hit by one torpedo from U-565 and sank north of Sidi Barrani, Egypt.

U-Boot-Abwehrschule.

On May 21, 1935, when secrecy was no longer an issue, the U-boat defense school was renamed the U-boat school, and from July to September 1935 the small U-boats U 1 to U 6 came to the school,[1] with which the technical and diving training of the crews was carried out. The boats formed the school's subordinate "Schulverband der Unterseebootschule". In the course of time other boats were added or changed to other insinuations.
