Hello,
Nice picture from U 203 during St-Nazaire's U-Bootbunker inauguration.
You'll find Inside this issue a drawing of the construction.

Hello to all :D; a little more: “Westward-ho” - the U 37 - Meeting with castaways.

Taken from the schedule of the U 37 of historisches-marinearchiv.de, I could find that the only commander who met and helped castaways was Werner Hartmann (three times) to know ......

18.02.1940 11:30 hours in BF78 - supplies to shipwrecked lifeboats.
12.04.1940 11:05 hours in AF78 - C STANCLIFFE 4511T Br, cigarettes + bottle of rum for lifeboat occupants

Hello to all :D; a little more: U 404 (Type VII C). Her most successful patrol.

However, it was on the third patrol that the U 404 reaped its best laurels. The U boat managed to sink 7 ships with 35,021 GRT in this patrol. After 69 days and 9,121 sm, U 404 entered St. Nazaire on July 14, 1942.

were sunk:

30.05.1942 - the American ALCOA SHIPPER 9,451 TRB
02.06.1942 - the American WEST NOTUS 5,492 TRB
03.06.1942 - the Swedish ANNA 1,345 BRT
24.06.1942 - the Yugoslav LJUBICA MATCOVIC 3,289 TRB
25.06.1942 - the American MANUELA 4.772 TRB
25.06.1942 - the Panamanian NORDAL 3.845 TRB
27.06.1942 - the Norwegian MOLDANGER 6.827 TRB

BdU conclusion (quite laconic):

Excellent patrol carried out with very good success.
