Bossings on VIIc sub

Post by Morog » 01 Sep 2017 09:43

Hi,

the last years we build the Engel VIIc and try to make as much improvement as possible. So at the moment we rebuild the bossings. Problem is that there are only a few pictures with this part. Most of the pics I have they are very badly visible. We try to get some info about U 995 but I think they changed the bossings in the 90´s because of the big restoration. Did anyone have pics or blueprints from this section?

best regards

Sascha

If you don't know .. you are in good company ... even the Oxford dictionary doesn't have it.
I presume that the meaning is : the protruding "head" of a rivet.

 Sorry mates, the Translator (Leo.org) is crap I think. I don´t know the special therm in english. The german word is "Wellenhose". The part the shaft leave the pressure hull. Here is a pic from UBoot im Focus 10/14 Page 10.
@Ron: Yes thanks, it is an Engel VIIc

best regards

Hi Ron,

thank you very much! So, the part in bow direction is a tube with shaft gear in it and that part in stern direction is only a steel plate to cover the shaft and create a better waterflow. Is that correct? We talket aubout how to change a shaft gear and find no really good answer.

best regards

Sascha

Hi Ron,

there are propshafts in the Kit, but we talked about the original Subs. It is only an optical Problem with the Engel kit because this "Wellenhosen" are to small.

Sascha
