Hello Filibustero :D: here goes.....................

Certificate!

Certificate that he has crossed the equator (Dec 13, 1942) and was baptized by Neptune. The sailors are baptized with a fish name ................Name Sunfish. Usual for any sailor, not just U bootfahrer. Cheers. Raúl M 8-).

Hello Filibustero :D; the emblem on the certificate belongs to the 10. U Flotille and your man could be:

Weinberg, Gerhard MaschOGfr 05.10.1920 15.05.1943 N.E.of Havana U 176+

Thank you very much Raul and Axel for the good information,

For the moment I have this infotmation.

1.- This Certificate document was produced and gave to all sailors in U Boots crossing the Equator
2.- The sailor was baptized by "Neptune" as SUNFISFH on December 13 of 1942
3.- The real name of the saliror probabbly was Weinberg, Gerhard Masch OGfr ???
4.- The certificate belongs to the 10. U Flotille
5.- The sailor was in the U-boot U-176
6.- The signatures in the Certifacate Document belongs to Reiner Dierksen, as Commander of U-176 and Alfred Eick as 1.WO OLzS (later Commander of U-510)

Is it right?

I have other questions
- These documents of baptized crossing the Equator were prduced only for U-boot or also for other boats in the Kriegsmarine
- The design of these certificates are all differents? Each U-boot or boat had its own design for these documents?
- Is common to see these documents in market?

Hello to all :D; as you've requested Filibustero
Kreuzer Köln - trip abroad in 1930.
Here you can see the crossing ceremony aboard a German cruiser (Köln)

It is a normal ceremony on any ship around the globe.

Hello Raul. You were right with the name of the sailor. I have found at home with other documents a U-boot photo Album from Gerhard Weinberg. I am really happy!
