Laundry on Uboots?

Totally mundane question, but I was thinking about this. How did uboot crews do laundry while at sea. Or did they?

Based on my own experience of serving on an Oberon Class submarine I would say if they did any laundry then it was either hand washed or washed in a bucket. Remember fresh water was at a premium on uboats.

About laundry on U-Boote -lavandería in spanish language-:

https://www.u-historia.com/uhistoria/te ... atripu.htm

.....But there are also other minor details which you have to remember. If you have neither indelible ink nor name tags, and therefore the laundry which is hung up to dry in the electric motor compartment is not marked, it gets lost occasionally and unnecessary annoyance is caused. ....
