Hello
The commander of this boat was named MUHS. The image was Image
Using my de/eng dictionary it comes up with nothing that is relative, so I then tried JAR which the figure is peering into and came up to mine; to get; to win; to extract; to hew; to break ground; to unscrew; All of these could be related words as to what the boat was doing. Has anyone got the true meaning of the emblem, is it from a German Folk story, I wonder? What kind of tool is that???
Regards

hi,
I think it's possibly a kind of pun (playing with words)
The name MUHS is spoken with a long vowel "u", in English approximately like "Moose"
A Mus (with a long vowel u, as well) is a kind of cooked jam self-made from plums. The picture with the jar with its cover corroborates that.
Thus, the two words would sound like each other. I have, however, no idea what event or name the large screw in the picture may refer to.
greetings, the pb
