operation against allies troop transports

Do you guys have materials of u-boat operations against allies troop transports in Atlantic? It’s said that allies have never suffer great troop loss in Atlantic caused by submarines. Allies used several cruisers to carry us army to Britain through North Atlantic and kriegsmarine failed to bring casualties to the flotillas. Is anyone knows the details?

My GF's traveled from Australia on the Queens, so like these ships were too fast for a U Boat to get.

I believe many Troop convoys with US Troops were also carried on these ships, so it was very hard for a U Boat to keep track of their target due to its speed.

But I am sure there are more guys in this site with better details then me.

Hi, On the 3rd January 1943 the troop transport SS Dorchester was sunk by U 223 this event is known for the actions of the four chaplains who gave their lifejackets to other service personell.
