In regard to the loss of U-47 March 1941
what would have been the standard operating prcedure of U-47 tracking the allied covoy?
1} Fire torpedoes and sink ships
2] tracked the size speed and direction of Convoy to U boat Haq and other U bpats.
3} What were last radio messages sent to and sent back to U-47?

How about this theroy in the deph charge attacks there were not one but two submarines attacked
Uboat UA broached to the surface and dived/damaged and had to flee...
Uboat-47 wasnt so lucky....it was heavly depth-charged.... after its last message....british sailors saw flames UNDerwAter...after the attack...{now in other accounts of U boats damaged..the oil bunkers would leak Oil..but this is the only time I read of Flames Underwater{!!!]....which could be that U-47 was so damaged that it sank past the crush depth and imploded.....certainilly an aggressive and daring Captain such as Prien would have indeed attacked with his torpedoes....

Hi I believe that the flames seen were from the combustion of oxygen and hydrogen under intense pressure.
regard MH.

U-Boat net reports HMS Wolverine made U boat attack just after U-47 sank its last ship....certainly as Prien was an aggressive attacker.....could this have dmamaged U-47 so badly...that it sank out of control.....U-47 lost so early in action otherwise Prien would have certainlly attacked the convoy.....
