Uboat identification at Lisahally
Hi I am new to this forum and after visiting here many times I thought that I should join.
I always visit your Uboats section when I am doing research for my models and paintings, but I have run into a wall on my lastest project and I am hoping the experts here will be able to help.
I am wanting to create a diorama of a section of the surrender in 1945 of uboats at Lisahally. I have been drawn to the images of multiple boats with all kinds of detail strewn over the decks and laundry hanging on the jumping wires leading from the towers. Specifically I am wanting to mix a Type 9c/ 9c/40 with some type 7c's/7c/40's with varying details. By tracking through some of the postst here I have gained some fantastic information on actual boat numbers in the photos, as well as reading 'The Grey Wolves of Eriboll (David M. Hird)' to try to sort out which boats were where and when.
As you are well aware there is to much info to state here other than I have narrowed my search down to these3 photographs.
I would love to model U516 with its fast dive deck and add the at least 2 of the Mk7c's on either side, however I do not know what boats they are and I do not know thw location. I am guessing it is Lisahally and the only boats I have left that have not been identified in other pics are U244,U255,U293,U764 from the list of surrenders on Uboat.net.
The next photo is captioned and shows U826 at Lisahally and I have deduced that the type 9c must be U802 as it does not have a fast dive deck and it is the only 9C/9c/40 left on my list. I am looking for confirmation on this and the identities of the other 7c's / 7c/41's around it.
The last photo is one that I think is of U826 and U802 from the opposing abngle but I am not sure.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
thanks
Ian.

Hello Brokeneagle63,
For your first picture, you have from the background to the foreground : U 1105, U 826, U 802
For the second, you have the same boats with U 293 at left.
For the third, you have U 516, U 764 and U 244. I don(t know for the boat on the foreground.
Best regards,
Lionfish.

Since I posted this I managed to workout that U764 was next to U516 by spotting the number through U516's wintergarten bars. I was thinking the next should be 244 or 245, as per their arrival groups at Lisahally, so thanks for the confirmation.
I think the boat on the inside of U516 has a good chance of being U245.

Your welcome HR715!
A QUICK CORRECTION TO THE PHOTOS ABOVE
Where I have put the number U245 it should say U255
I have settled on modelling the following 3 boats at the matching pier section - U293, U802, U826. I will model U516 as a stand display.
Thanks for all the help.

U 255 had a fixed snorkel.
